The casing of the tire, with its 127 weaves per square centimeter (127 TPI), forms the basis for a very supple and lightweight tire that constantly has the best possible grip on the ground. The many fine weaves are covered from edge to edge of the tire by a thin, but very durable textile.

Hutchinson calls this layer Reinforced, which further protects the tire against abrasion from flints or other sharp edges that the tire is exposed to. The rubber compound, or compound as it's called, is made with a technique and mixture that Hutchinson calls Bi-compound. A technique where the center of the rolling field of the tire has a harder compound than the sides. The harder compound ensures the lowest possible rolling resistance when going straight ahead. The softer compound on the sides of the tire ensures the rider has optimal grip on the asphalt when cornering. 🔄🏁
