The Hutchinson Override Gravel tire is just about the perfect tire for the Danish and Nordic small roads, gravel and forest trails where gravel people pursue their sports and leisure interests. If you commute to and from work and use your gravel bike for this purpose, this tire could also be ideal for the task.

The strength of the Override model lies in the fast and most firm surface that a gravel cyclist rides on, which as mentioned could be uneven bike and gravel paths or similar.

The tire is probably the fastest gravel tire at Hutchinson, which comes from the many smaller knobs in the tire pattern, as well as from the compound (rubber mixture) that the tire is coated with.

The bi compound is composed of 2 different hardnesses and knob heights, a medium hard compound in the middle of the tire with low knobs to ensure minimal rolling resistance, and a more soft and malleable compound on the sides of the tire to give the rider the best possible grip in corners where the rider is most challenged. On the sides of the tire, the knobs are again higher than in the middle, to get good “bite” in the surface you ride on.

The Override model is a very light and mobile tire due to the many thin weaves in the carcass.†127 TPI†contains the tire, which means 127 weaves per square centimeter. The many welds also make the tire very flexible and incredibly resistant to punctures if you drive with a tire/hose setup.†

As an additional measure in the strengthening of the tire, a layer of Hardskin is placed in front of the welds, which is a very strong textile that protects the tire against abrasions from flint stones, glass shards or similar challenges that you encounter on a digging trip. Hardskin is very lightweight and suitable for this purpose, and as an added benefit, the overall rotational weight of the tire is kept as low as possible.

The Override tire, like most other Hutchinson gravel tires, is Tubeless Ready, which means you have the option to ride the tire as a tire/hose setup, or as a Tubeless setup, where you ride tubeless, and a Latex fluid and air forms the seal between tire and rim.

This model of the Override tire is 38 m/m wide but is also available in a 35 or 45 m/m version, with the 35 m/m width you achieve the best possible mix of speed and comfort during your gravel ride, so if this is an important parameter for you as a user, this is the model to choose for your gravel bike.
